life shared

i must say how i am thankful for friends who are patient enough to listen to words vomit from my mouth. the most wonderful thing about vomiting to friends is that you are not alone to clean up the mess. not only do you clean up the mess together, the "listener" also does a little spilling themselves. this is what makes a friendship so beautiful. the vulnerability, the honesty, the bouncing back and forth with each other......you are not alone in your heartache. you are not alone in your excitement. you are not alone in the processing of life.
it takes two people to create life and it takes life to be shared.

cracked door

sometimes life is like this photo.
i took this in memphis at the peabody hotel. this is the hotel where ducks just chill and walk around in the lobby.

what i could see when i peaked thru the cracks of this door is what looked like a beautiful ballroom. i really wanted to just open the dang doors and experience the fullness of it's glory but the doors being locked pretty much hindered me from doing so. i was just happy that the crack was big enough to see the waxed floor, the glistening chandelier that hung in the middle of the room, and the arched window in the very back that allowed sunlight to stream thru.

these were glimpses. glimpses of the beauty in this room. life here on earth is exactly like this. would you agree? we experience beauty in many different ways, different times, and share the beauty that inhabits our souls with different people.

to me, beauty is the sky in all it's seasons. to me, beauty is the purple orchid, the red rose. to me, beauty is the visible but then beauty is also what we do not always see right then and there. beauty is the excitement of a new relationship forming. beauty is in the unconditional love for someone. beauty is in the simplicity of holding that someone's hand for the first time. beauty is holding that someone's hand you have lived with for years, been thru it all, and still find comfort and love in this simple act and maybe even get the same feelings as if it were for the first time. beauty is seeing my once angry and bitter grandfather turn to his family in the hospital room and smile a smile that speak to all of us more than words could ever speak...a smile that tells us he is in the presence of our heavenly Father....a smile that tells us how he has been forgiven and is asking for ours as well. beauty are longings fulfilled. beauty is in the sound of our pain and our joys.

beauty are the glimpses we see thru the cracked door of life here on earth......

travel

buildings of new york

traveling is a love of mine.
i love the smell of airports. i love sitting in section B105 waiting for my flight from nashville to fill in the blank come in. watching people, their styles and their corks, walk by and wonder about their life and where they're headed is incredibly mind filling. being high up in the air, gazing out the tiny plastic window, and smiling because of the beauty that stares straight back at me is one of my most favorite moments in the world.
the journey is apart of the destination when i fly. i forget that in life so often and for some reason i never forget it when i travel.

finger twirling my hair

dreams.ideas.beauty.a world of many possibilities.details.elegance.humility.life uncertain.life planned. life unplanned.

I have a filing cabinet that sits behind my eyes and shares space between both the left and the right side of my brain. I use to keep it very organized. I have many left brained thoughts that I would keep filed in the folder labeled "practical." And I use to keep my right brained thoughts in a folder labeled "creative". Recently my thoughts have been merging. Actually, there was a time that every folder in this cabinet exploded and what may seem to be a messy problem to clean up has in fact turned into a world of found items, both old and new. Right now, I guess you can say it is a folder of maybe every idea and possibility I have ever had, both practical and creative.

So, the cabinet that sits behind my eyes and that shares space between the left and right side of my brain, contains one giant manilla folder labeled, "ideas and possibilities". I would say I am looking at them one by one and in time finding what creative thoughts are actually very practical!

This photo is me. The vineyard is my world of possibilities. I wear a thinking cap. My finger twirling my hair is the fun I am having doing it and the freedom I am experiencing living it!

destination vs. journey

I use to be a destination kinda girl, but I think I'm becoming a journey kinda girl....

Life is so crazy.  So crazy.  We walk into so many different seasons, some more calm than others while others more distraught.  We need them all.  And as I am saying "we" I must say that the "we" is ME included.  Actually, that is why I write this today.  I am learning so much about living and just being me on this earth filled with so many opportunities, so many people's voices, so many creative ways to live.
Who am I?
What do people say I should "do"?
What's easy?
How do I live to the fullest?
I don't want to "miss" any opportunity.
But bottom line, dangit!....what do I want to do?
So many questions.  So many thoughts.  And all those thoughts in and of themselves are fine questions to ask.  There is nothing wrong with thinking!  We are suppose to use our minds!  But when those thoughts start to rule your life and stifle actually LIVING, (which we are suppose to do) then the fear and the questions start ruling your life instead of where you are suppose to be right now.  Today.  This moment.
Ok. Let me just say this again......

Right now.
Today.
This moment.
Doesn't these simple lines make you breathe a little more easier?

Wouldn't life be a lot fuller if we just concerned ourselves with NOW.  Are we suppose to look to the future?  No, really think about.  Are we?  Yes, there are goals we can set and planning to do....we do need to prepare for certain things but even in those things, we cannot live them fully until they are here.  What we can do is walk in the questions of this day.  I think when we do that it puts us in a place where we can be human and let God be our God.
Hold on!  Wait.  So, we can be human?  We can live and not worry about tomorrow?!  I believe what the Lord has said, "Do not worry about tomorrow for today has enough worries of its own", means to do just that!  Yes, I am beginning to believe what God says He actually means!  There are plenty of things to worry about today, why do we put our minds through so much torture when we actually do not need to?  I know I do it because I start putting life in a box using the amazing mind our Creator has given me but it is still very small and still can only imagine or dream so far.
Embracing life right now allows the things that seem "small" become exciting and adventurous things and way bigger than we may ever know!  We can live the things of today in uncertainty because we know that what is today is apart of the journey of tomorrow and so forth......

I use to be a destination kinda girl and I am starting to truly become a journey kinda girl.  And let me just say, I am really liking it!

apartmenttherapy.com

just some photos that make me smile a wee bit....

greys meet color. i like the difference.

i imagine this is where whatever is small enough to fit in these sweet chairs, sit and watch mankind live their life.

lonely chair....but i'm glad the pink umbrella is there to keep him company.

color. this room is filled with color from different artifacts. i like how the colors from the covers of the books meet the colors from the framed art on the wall.
it's a splash of an organized colored mess!

mmmmm.....what else is there to say?? there is not much at all. white sheets, light coming thru one window and the amazing act of laziness.
simply lovely.

i just like this stove. maybe it works and maybe it doesn't. it's just classy and i like it!
